GARY JOHN (QWALQWALTEN)

CHAIR

Garry John is Tsal’alhmec, born and raised in the community of Tsal’alh. His parents are Samuel John (Pabby) and Matilda John (Tillie) and has several brothers and sisters. He has a strong cultural and traditional background and is actively involved in community and nation gatherings; most times as lead drummer/singer.


Garry has served as Tsal’alh Chief, a member of Council for several terms and was involved in key negotiations on behalf of the community. He was instrumental in several Tsal’alh agreements with the provincial and federal governments, including the Cut-off Claims, BC Rail Shuttle Service, and BC Hydro-St’at’imc Nation and community agreements.

Garry has served as a Chair and representative at the St’at’imc Chief’s Council. Garry will be serving as a Director on the TDC Board of Directors and has been asked to sit as Chair of the Board.

MORRIS PROSSER

DIRECTOR

Rep’rep’sken (Morris Prosser) is Tsal’alhmec. Morris grew up half of his life in Tsal’alh and the other half in Sto:lo Territory in the Fraser Valley. He is the son of Monica Shields and Mike Prosser and the grandson of Clara Shields (Bull) and Fred Shields.

Morris obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of the Fraser Valley in 2016. Morris served previous on the TDC Board of Directors and served on the Board of St’at’imc Eco Resources. Morris’ experience is in economic development, title & rights and policy. Morris currently works for the BC Provincial Government.

LINDA O'DONAGHEY

Secretary Treasurer

Linda O’Donaghey is Tsal’alhmec. Linda came from Northern Ontario in 1968 directly to Shalalth and married Mike O’Donaghey, whose parents are Edith O’Donaghey (Peter) and Patrick O’Donaghey. Linda lived in the Shalalth area for 40 years.

Linda served on the TDC Board of Directors previously and returned in 2023. She was asked to sit as the Secretary Treasurer of the Board. Linda served on the Board of St’at’imc Government Services, the St’at’imc PC (2011) Trust Board, the Board of the Bridge River Community Club, Bridge River Television Society and now serves on the Boards of the Lillooet Rod & Gun Club and the Lillooet Seniors Society.

Linda retired from BC Hydro in 2007 after a 32-year career in Shalalth as the Office/Townsite Administrator and is currently working as the Office Manager for TDC.

JASMINE O'DONAGHEY

Director

Jasmine O’Donaghey, though a Syilx member, she has strong ties to Tsal’alh through her father’s O’Donaghey lineage and growing up on the St’at’imc land. Jasmine is married and has 3 boys.

Right now, Jasmine is the Contract Manager for the Indigenous Skills and Employment Training Program in Lillooet, B.C. Jasmine also sits as Chair for the T’it’q’et Preschool and Daycare Board of Directors. Jasmine practices the St’át’imc culture such as language and hunting and fishing traditions with her family.

Nonetheless, this being Jasmine’s first term as a Director for TDC, she will bring knowledge within the administration and contract management areas.
